Tomorrow is the day.
Family pictures...
At least I HOPE so!
It is supposed to be rainy, so I hope we can find a good window sometime in the day!
Picture day is a big deal for every mom I think.
What to wear...that is my biggest thing.
I finally got it all put together today...
I started with one outfit that I really like of Cassi's that has lots of different colors in it.
So I figured out things to go with it, and in the end, I ended up changing the outfit that Cassi was going to wear...I know, I am a nut!
But I think it will all work out good...very colorful.
So I put the finishing touches on Elsie's outfit today.
I was going to have her wear white...but she kinda washes out with her hair....so I remembered this sweater dress that Cassi has...that she doesn't wear very much anymore.
And I altered it to fit Elsie.
Cutting down the sides to fit her skinny body, and using the bottom half of the sleeves to make shorted sleeves for Elsie.
Dumb me sewed the sleeves on inside out...but when you turn the cuff in, I think it looks cute, so I left it.
Some mistakes are good mistakes.
Well, I realized I forgot to take a BEFORE picture.
Then I remembered it was the same thing that Cassi wore for our family pictures last year.
And the dress was originally Madi's.
So all the girls got to wear it, but it looked different every time, and got smaller every time!
Cassi, 2009, spunky!
Kinda fun, right...
*********************
After Porters nap, we changed his bum and took the diaper out to the garage.
He didn't want to come back in.
So I just left the door so he could come in and out.
He would stay out for a little bit, then come and get me and point to Dads tools on the wall until I picked the one he wanted.
Then I would go back inside.
He would play for a while...then come back and point for more tools.
He did that for the longest time.
He sure takes his 'Man of the house' duties seriously!

can't wait to see your family pictures!! They are always so cute! They are so stressful though. I've been pondering what we shoudl wear for the last month. I think Britt is bringing half her wardrobe from Laramie so I can be prepared! Ha ha!
Elsie looks so grown up with the dress and pearls on! how fun to change one outfit so many times.. You really have an eye for things!
Good luck with pictures, we are headed out tomorrow, and looking at the calendar we will have to do our pictures after you get back. Hopefully we won't freeze then! :)
That is such an adorable picture of Elsie!!! How fun that all of the girls will end up wearing that sweater in a picture!! I love seeing Porter with all of those tools!!
That sweater/dress looks so cute on all of your girls! I find it amazing what you do with clothes, changing them to fit whoever you want to wear it at the time!
Can't wait to see what outfits you chose for the latest pictures, and wishing a photographer friend lived near us so we could trade picture days!
Kim, you are incredible. I love Elsie in red. Can't wait to see what the rest of the family is wearing!
It's interesting how the color of the dress also seems to change! Very cute job. And that's a cool documentation of changes!
It'll be fun to see what your family pictures are going to look like. Hope you have a good window of rainless!
Perfect repurpose! I wish I could do that!
