We drove home Sunday Morning because I had the opportunity to take pictures at the unveiling of the Idaho Fallen Firefighter Memorial here in Boise. It was a neat thing to be at. They had the bagpipes and everything. If you haven't heard 'Amazing Grace' played in bagpipes, you haven't heard anything. So powerful, so beautiful.
The sculpture is perfect and so amazing with the detail. What a neat thing to have so close to us. As you can guess, it was pretty emotional. They read off each name of every Idaho Firefighter who has died in the line of duty, placed a rose on the memorial and rang the 'Last Alarm'. Everyone who lives close by should visit it...it is along the greenbelt, right by the Boise Fire training tower. It is worth a visit.

What a special event to be too, we are all so grateful that there are people in this world like Brent that are willing to risk their lives to save ours. Thanks to all the firefighters in the world!
Way cool- Of course this is one of those things Drew knows about but doesn't tell me . We will have to go and see..
That is so neat! We also appreciate our firefighters! That is a really cool statue!
This is WAY cool. I love all the pictures and the updates. You're making me feel guilty cuz I have a bunch of updates to do and here you are just popping them right out. The statue is really, really neat - the next time we're up your way we'll have to go see it.
That is so neat. Those are also great pictures.
Kim,
That sculpture is close to my heart. My grandpa was a firefighter in Salt Lake and died in a fire. His name is on a plaque in Salt Lake. My dad was only 2 when it happened leaving my grandma with 5 children, no husband and no driver's license! I'll have to take my family to see that memorial.
