We LOVE Verona Lake!!!
Ha ha ha....not really.Verona is our neighborhood...
We don't have an official lake.
What we have is a water retaining pit...you know...that catches the overflow water.
Anyway, every year since we have been here, it fills up, and does not drain.
It smells, it gets mosquitoes.
It is bad...
EXCEPT for this year.....
Some ducks found it!!!
So what we have now is our very own duck pond just a few steps from our house!!!
Today we went and threw our stale bread to them.
The kiddos thought it was pretty cool.
The first time we went it, the ducks seemed clueless to what we were doing.
But this time, one duck took the lead and showed his friends it was okay.
It was a fun time.
(I still wish they could fix the thing!!!)
That sounds like a fun little family activity! Not the stinkiness though...ick
ReplyDeleteI can't believe your weather! We are wearing our winter coats, hats and gloves - even in the afternoon. I think Monday we are having a high of 39.

ReplyDeleteWe have "park" but it really is just one of those water retaining pits too...ours haven't filled with water but if it does it would be so cool if ducks came!
